An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
Our goal in life is to be healthy, enjoy life and stay away from the diseases. However, in reality many of us are far away from our goal. Our environment also has much to do with these problems. Regardless of our lifestyle, eating habits toxins are accumulating in our bodies. Toxins from automobile emissions, industrial chemicals, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides are present everywhere in our environment. Chemicals in our food and water worsen the problem. They build up over time, like a snowball few snow flakes at a time.
Many of these chemical toxins act like hormones in the body and interfere with our bodily functions. Once absorbed in the body, distort the cell’s proper functioning.
Ayurveda, a 5000-year-old wisdom of health has described the rejuvenation procedure, Panchakarma that subtly removes the toxins from the mind and body. These procedures are designed to maximize the removal of toxins while maintaining the harmony of natural body functions. The purifying and eliminating actions of Panchakarma first dislodge the toxins from the cells and then flush them out of the body.
During Panchakarma, the focus is not on particular disease. All diseases have a common cause - blockage in the energy channels, many times due to the toxins. Removing the toxins naturally, by Panchakarma, is an ounce of Potion for Longevity.
Panchakarma procedures have been tried successfully around the world. Many studies show increase in energy, appetite, and mental tranquility and sound sleep, reduction in stress level, decrease in blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, pain and fatigue.
Panchakarma can be successfully used as preventive measure in conditions like heart problems, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, arthritis, MS, allergies, asthma, Depression, stress, insomnia, anxiety, ADD, SAD, digestive disorders, and many more.
Panchakarma literally means “five therapeutic procedures” to purify the Mind/Body. It is a series of steps performed for 7 days, tailored to different body constitutions. It involves three stages, Purva Karma, Pradhan Karma, and Paschat Karma.
In Purva Karma the toxins are dislodged from various tissues and mobilized towards the digestive system by giving snehana (oleation) and swedana (steam) therapies.
Pradhan karma, is actually the main step in panchakarma. The name Panchakarma literally means five purificatory procedures.
- Vamana – Medicated Emesis
- Virechana – Medicated Purgation
- Basti – Medicated enemas
- Nasya – Medicated nasal drops
- Rakta moksha – Blood letting.
Paschat karma is a third stage of panchakarma. It involves restoration of strong digestive enzymes and rejuvenation of tissues. This paschat karma is designed to nourish, strengthen, and balance the newly detoxified tissues. The aim is to establish increased energy level, strengthen the immune system, and increase longevity. It is done by taking strengthening herbs for a month.
Panchakarma therapy is a thorough and elaborate detoxifying procedure that people of all ages enjoy.
"The technicians were very attentive and nurturing during the panchakarma process. Everything was enjoyable. I am surprised that such a gentle and easy method of cleansing can be so powerful. If more people were aware of this cleanse and understood its purpose they would stop putting the band aid on their symptoms and clear out the root of their problems using these simple techniques.
Throughout the process of Panchakarma, I was aware of the toxins surfacing and stirring. Some days I felt little weak. Maybe I was releasing toxins that have been in the body for 40 or more years. It is amazing how the emotional, mental and physical bodies are interconnected. My energy began to improve towards the end of the 5th day. The spaciness disappeared soon after emptying the bowel that afternoon. The rest of the day I had unbelievable mental clarity and an increase in energy. I am looking forward to rebuilding my body over the next few weeks and really feeling the results of this cleanse. I am also looking forward to the next Panchakarma in 6-12 months.
Thanks for making it a wonderful experience."
